The Opportunity
The Technical Operations Manager for Distribution will lead the technical side of JobTarget’s Distribution team — the group responsible for ensuring our customers’ job advertisements are successfully distributed to external job boards. This role combines leadership, operational excellence, and technical problem-solving to manage a small but high-performing team of developers who build and maintain the systems that power our job distribution network. This role is ideal for someone with a technical background who enjoys leading teams and improving systems that have real business impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead product strategy and execution for job distribution via AI-powered routing, partner integrations, and confirmation.
- Define product roadmaps in collaboration with engineering, QA, and Business leaders.
- Ensure systems scale to handle high-volume data flows with real-time performance requirements.
- Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term architectural investments.
- Navigate technical tradeoffs and push for automation and resilience in all layers.
- Translate business goals into clear, prioritized backlogs and functional requirements.
- Lead discovery and scoping with users, partners, and internal stakeholders to validate needs.
- Collaborate with data and AI teams to integrate intelligent automation where it drives the most impact.
- Provide consistent updates, documentation, and context to teams across the company.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years in product management or technical leadership roles, ideally focused on B2B SaaS, platforms, or backend systems.
- Strong technical fluency—you can speak the language of engineers and make informed trade-offs.
- Demonstrated success managing backend or data platform products through their lifecycle.
- Experience leading diverse engineering teams—you can manage up, down, and across.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills—you know how to move work forward even in ambiguity.
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with modern cloud architectures, job processing pipelines, APIs, and integrations.
- A proactive, outcome-oriented mindset—you don’t wait for permission to make things better.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in recruitment advertising, HR technology, or SaaS platforms.
- Familiarity with job distribution systems, job board integrations, or data feed management.
- Exposure to tools like Jira, Confluence, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
JobTarget provides a high-energy growth environment, along with a competitive base salary and excellent benefits, including PTO, medical, dental, and 401(k) with match. Annual base pay range: $95,000.00 -$120,000 + bonus potential. JobTarget is an equal-opportunity employer.
